We’re here to help you feel empowered to own your oral health.
A Message from Dr. Sean
I got my passion and interest for dentistry early on in my life.
While I was in high school, I had a snowboarding accident where I broke one of my front teeth in half that required an emergency root canal. Running around the city on Sunday evening to find a dentist who could get me out of pain made me think about what a good dentist and dental care can do for a person. Coming from a Korean immigrant family whose parents owned a small business with no dental insurance also gave me a perspective in equity of dental care as well. With these interests while growing up on the North shore of Vancouver, I went on and pursued my degree in dental medicine from Tufts School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) in Boston, MA.
Since graduating in 2010 from TUSDM, I have been practicing dentistry in different parts of Calgary. While I was working as an associate in different practices, I started to think about how I would practice dentistry differently if I was to own a practice. Altadore Dental is a culmination of all the things that I have been thinking about, focusing on patient education and experience, equity in access to care, and the best clinical care that I can provide.
I have been constantly taking further training to keep up to date with the newest technologies and knowledge in the field. My recent focus on continuing education has been on understanding how teeth work with each other (bite) and also how oral health is interconnected with systemic health through extensive training at Kois Center in Seattle WA with world renowned Dr. John Kois.
I am happily married to my lovely wife, Hwanhee, and we have three boys at home that keep us busy and active in one way or another. It would be my privilege to see you as a patient in my practice if you choose us as a dental care provider. Thank you.

Our Team
Welcome to Altadore Dental! Since graduating at the University of Sydney in 2019, I have been providing dental care in a wide range of settings from aged care and community dentistry in rural Australia to cosmetic dentistry in Downtown Calgary. In 2023 I went on to complete the Implant Residency at the University of Alberta.
My goal is to demystify dentistry and provide you with the knowledge and tools to be in control of your oral health. I strongly believe in a preventative approach to dentistry with consideration to the oral-systemic links to general health.
In addition to general dentistry services, I also provide wisdom teeth removal, orthodontics using Invisalign, dental implants and cosmetic treatment with composite bonding and porcelain veneers.
Regardless of where you are in your dental journey from regular attender to not having seen a dentist in a while, you can be assured that when you come to Altadore Dental you will be treated with respect in a caring, judgement free environment.
I look forward to seeing you!

Our Office
We provide a comfortable, friendly atmosphere, so all our patients feel right at home.
Our Commitment to Health & Safety
This pandemic has put a renewed focus on aerosol and how it can be a vehicle for a lot of transmissible viral disease. We take patients’ health and safety seriously at Altadore Dental and we have taken steps above and beyond what our governing body (ADA and C) recommends in sanitation to ensure our patients will have a peace of mind when visiting our office. These are the measures that we have taken to keep our patients and staff safe:
Vidashield UV24:
We use the same technology as most hospitals that use UV-C light to destroy airborne viruses. VidaShield is a UV-C, antimicrobial, environmental air purification system. It combines an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) chamber and air circulating fans with an overhead ceiling light to pass the air to disinfect it before the air gets recirculated back into the space.
Hypochlorous Acid Disinfectant:
ULV electric fogger sprayer with Hypochlorous Acid, which is a chlorine derived weak acid and a potent disinfectant. This method of disinfection is commonly used in food processing plants, water treatment facilities, and hospital settings. We wipe every surface with disinfectant in the clinic and put a proper barrier before each patient. We also use a fogger sprayer to spray hypochlorous acid mist at the end of the day throughout the clinic to thoroughly disinfect to ensure cleanliness of the clinic for the next day.
Continued Commitment to Comfort
We do everything we can to ensure that the patient’s visit is as comfortable as possible. In doing so, we strive to provide the best possible care with materials that we feel are safest for our patients. Here are some examples of things that we use in the office to ensure we deliver on the most comfortable experience for all our patients:
BPA Free Filling and Sealants:
This may come as a surprise, but conventional white filling and sealant material contain BPA— the chemical commonly found in household and industrial plastics that has shown to contribute to many health problems such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. At Altadore Dental, we use BPA-free ceramic based direct restoration (filling) and sealant materials. Long term health effects of BPA containing white fillings are unknown at this point. However, individuals with many white fillings have shown to have higher amounts of BPA in their body.
Itero Intraoral Digital Scanner:
One of the things that people absolutely hate about dental visits is that gooey material some dentists use to take mold/impression of their teeth. We have replaced that gooey impression with digital scanners in most treatments to make patient visits more comfortable. However, an itero scanner is a whole lot more than just a scanner. We take digital scans for every new patient who receives a full exam and scans are taken periodically after that for us to track any possible tooth movement and gum recession. It will allow a clinician to track tooth health over a long period of time and allow us to recommend helpful measures surrounding lifestyle and hygiene techniques for better oral health outcome.
